How to Race in Alife Virtual

Follow these steps to start your racing career

Locate the Car Racing Island

Look for the racing circuit - you'll see:

Large racing circuit with checkered flags
Car Racing Board displaying current racers and times
Gas station near the registration area
Exotic supercars parked ready for racing

Register as a Racer

Click on the Car Racing Board
Select "Register" from the menu
Confirmation message will appear
Your name now appears on the leaderboard!

You only need to register once - your profile is saved permanently.

Purchase Racing Fuel

Gas is consumed during racing (5 units per checkpoint, 30 units per lap).

Gas Prices:

10 gas units = 100 C$ (10 C$ per unit)
50 gas units = 500 C$ (10 C$ per unit)
100 gas units = 1000 C$ (10 C$ per unit)

How to buy gas:

Touch the gas station object (marked ⛽ GAS STATION ⛽)
A menu will appear with gas options
Select your desired amount (10, 50, or 100 gas)
Right-click the gas station object
Select "Pay" → Choose the matching price
Confirmation message shows your new total gas

Tip: Purchase 100 gas units for maximum racing time without refueling!

Get Your Race Car

Race cars are parked near the racing board and gas station. Choose from exotic supercars including Ferraris, Lamborghinis, and more!

To get in a car:

Right-click on any available race car
Select "Sit" or "Drive" from the pie menu
You'll be seated in the driver's seat
The car is now under your control!

IMPORTANT: Stop your AO (Animation Override) before driving! AO animations interfere with driving controls.

Master the Driving Controls

Basic Controls (Keyboard):

↑ UP ARROW	Accelerate forward
↓ DOWN ARROW	Brake / Reverse
← LEFT ARROW	Steer left
→ RIGHT ARROW	Steer right
PAGE UP	Shift up (increase speed)
PAGE DOWN	Shift down (decrease speed)

Driving Tips:

Start in low gear and gradually shift up as speed increases
Brake BEFORE tight corners, not during the turn
Use lower gears for hairpin turns and elevation changes
Full throttle works best on straightaways
Practice smooth steering - jerky movements slow you down
Watch the arrows on the track for optimal racing line

Racing & Checkpoint System

The race track features 6 checkpoints that you must pass in order. Arrows on the road show the correct direction and checkpoint locations.

Checkpoint Order:

✓ Checkpoint 1 - Start of lap timing
✓ Checkpoint 2 - First sector
✓ Checkpoint 3 - Second sector
✓ Checkpoint 4 - Third sector
✓ Checkpoint 5 - Fourth sector
✓ Checkpoint 6 - FINISH LINE (lap completes, 5 gas consumed)

Important Rules:

You MUST pass all 6 checkpoints in numerical order
Skipping a checkpoint means the lap won't count
Follow the arrows - they mark the racing line
Drive through the checkpoint triggers

Unlimited Laps: Race as many laps as you want! Each lap is independently timed, and only your BEST lap time appears on the leaderboard.

Understanding the Leaderboard

The racing board displays racers sorted by fastest lap time (best times at top).

Display Format:

#. Name L:# Time G:###

Example:
1. Sorin Todys L:5 T:204 (2/6) G:85

What it means:

# = Ranking position (1 = fastest)
Name = Racer's avatar name
L:# = Total laps completed
T:### = Best lap time in seconds (T:204 = 3 min 24 sec)
(2/6) = Current lap progress
G:### = Gas remaining

Gas Management Strategy

Gas Consumption: You need 30 gas units to complete ONE lap (5 units consumed at each of 6 checkpoints)

If you run out of gas:

Checkpoints will reject you with error message
You cannot complete the lap
You must refuel at the gas station before continuing
Your checkpoint progress is saved - resume after refueling

Tip: With 100 gas, you can complete 3 laps before needing to refuel!

Master these techniques to dominate the leaderboard

Learn the Racing Line

Practice multiple laps to memorize corners. Follow the arrow markers for the optimal racing line.

Master Gear Shifting

Use higher gears on straights, lower gears in tight sections. Shift smoothly for maximum speed.

Perfect Your Braking

Brake BEFORE corners, not during the turn. Accelerate out of corners smoothly.

Monitor Your Fuel

Keep track of your gas level. Don't run out mid-lap - it costs valuable time!
